Leonard William Lane, 84, of Burlington, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born June 30, 1939 in Mount Sterling, Ill., he was the son of Leonard and Dorothy Mauck Lane Sr.

Leonard graduated from Brown County High School in Mount Sterling, Illinois. He served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4th class.

On June 13, 1958 he married Karan Ingram in Versailles, Ill.

Leonard worked for Benner Tea Company and was the first Vice President of Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust in Burlington, retiring after over 40 years of service. He was a member of Parkside First Baptist Church and a past member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Leonard loved to golf. He was a loving family man and a devoted husband and father.

Survivors include his wife Karan of Burlington; his children Douglas (Jane) Lane of Bonita Springs, Fla., Darryl Lane of Peoria, Arizona, Debby (Pat) O’Malley of Elmhurst, Ill., Dan (Kelly) Lane of Jefferson City, Mo., David (Mary Kay) Lane of Canton, Mo. and Diana Doetzel of Scottsdale, Ariz.; 19 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; one brother Jerry Lane of Carlinville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Pete Lane and Donald Lane and one sister Sharon Likes.

The memorial service for Leonard will be at 11am Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Parkside First Baptist Church with Reverend Steven Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service.

A memorial has been established for Parkside First Baptist Church.
