Benny Reeves, 86, of Burlington, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
Born March 29, 1936, in Bunker, Mo., he was the son of Clarence and Stella Tucker Reeves. On June 27, 1980, he married Betty Jean Schumann Reynolds.
Benny worked at J.I. Case Company as a sandblaster for 22 years
He enjoyed bluegrass music, rabbit hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include his wife Betty; one daughter Mary Ellen Reeves (Patrick) Reynolds of Fairfield; six step-children Harold Reynolds of Hosington, Kan., Timothy Reynolds of Rushsprings, Okla., Kenneth Reynolds of Burlington, Michael Reynolds of Kirkwood, Ill., Ronald Reynolds of Burlington, and Kimberly Hamor of West Burlington; one granddaughter Jacklyn (Brandon) Brown of Eldon; one sister Dorothy Nelson of Pacific, Mo.; six brothers Elijah (Gladys) Reeves of Morning Sun, Clinton (Linda) Reeves of Palmyra, Mo., Frankie (Jenie) Reeves of Hannibal, Mo., Donald (Kathy) Reeves of Hannibal, Mo., David (Jan) Reeves of Rolla, Mo., and Charles (Marie) Reeves of St. Louis, Mo. and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joe Reeves and stepson Richard Reynolds.
The funeral service for Mr. Reeves will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Lunning Chapel. Interment will be at Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of service.
