Edwin “Eddie” L. Wade, 59, of Burlington, died Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born October 1, 1966, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Donald and Sherry Strahn Wade.
Eddie was born with microcephaly and was told he would not live past the age of 15. However, it never stopped him from doing what he could. He was quite the character! He was an excellent judge of people and lovingly gave them all nicknames if they made the “cut”. He absolutely LOVED Randy Travis and listening to music, with bluegrass being his favorite, and he could endlessly watch “O Brother, Where Art Thou” and “Labrynth”
He is survived by his guardians Arron Doane and Mindy Dingman, and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
The graveside funeral service and burial for Eddie will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16th at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In honor of Eddie, it has been requested that you wear your favorite “funny” t-shirt.
A memorial has been established for the Special Needs Foundation in honor of Eddie.
