Benjamin Joseph Brueck, 43, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away on September 12, 2026.
Ben was born on January 5, 1983, in Burlington, Iowa, to Kenneth and Teresa (Blindt) Brueck. The oldest of seven children, Ben grew up knowing the special responsibility, and privilege, of being a big brother. He was a proud, protective, and loving brother who carried that role with him throughout his life.
On May 31, 2008, Ben welcomed the light of his life, his daughter, Chloe Rose Brueck, lovingly known to him as his “Peanut Rose.” Of all the roles and titles Ben held in his life - son, brother, uncle, Papa, builder, businessman, co-founder of Four Seasons Excavation and Landscaping with his cousin Kyle Reid, and founder and CEO of FS, Inc. - the title he treasured most was Dad. His love for Chloe was fierce, unconditional, and at the very heart of who he was. She was his greatest joy, his greatest pride, and his greatest legacy.
Ben was a builder in every sense of the word. Through his work and his company, FS, Inc., he helped shape and strengthen Southeast Iowa, leaving behind a lasting mark on the community he called home. Much like his grandfather and father, Ben understood being a builder was more than just building things. It was providing support, creating opportunities, and leaving something meaningful behind. Ben measured the true success of FS, Inc. not just in the work that was completed, but in the lives built within its walls. It was a deep point of pride for him to watch his employees' families grow alongside the company, viewing every milestone as a shared achievement.
Those who knew Ben also knew his generous heart. He had a special compassion for people in need and a willingness to help whenever he could, especially at Christmastime. That spirit of giving will continue through “Ben’s Wish List,” a foundation established in his name to provide children in need with gifts and the joy of a magical Christmas morning. Through this lasting gift, Ben’s generosity will continue to bring hope, smiles, and a little bit of Christmas magic to children in his community.
Ben will be remembered for his big heart, his generosity, his determination, and above all, his fierce love for his family, especially his Peanut Rose. And he will be forever loved and deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Chloe Brueck; parents, Kenneth and Teresa Brueck; siblings, Justin (Julie) Brueck, Annalicia (Jacob) Wischmeier, Jacob (Marie) Brueck, EmilyAnn (Spencer) Walrath, MaryKatherine Brueck, MargaretMary (Michael) Franco; special buddy, “Bubs” to whom he was known as Papa; and nieces and nephews, Maxwell, Eliza, Samuel, Oliver, Callum, Violet, Eli, Evelynn, Simon, Joseph, Caleb, Linus, Ava, Cecilia, Cora, and Josephine.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roland “Joe” and Margie Blindt and Robert and Martha Brueck.
The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Ben will be 1:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2026, at Divine Mercy Parish-St. Paul's Catholic Church with Fr. Jake Greiner as the Celebrant. Private family burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
