
Jerrold “Tuff” Dreckmeier, 56, of Burlington, Iowa, died Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
Born on September 24, 1968, in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of John and Jean (Austin) Dreckmeier.
Tuff was a 1987 graduate of Burlington High School and worked for Silgan Container for several years. Tuff owned Insane Customs and was a member of the Insane Customs Car Club. He was a huge car enthusiast and loved traveling with friends to car shows. ShowFest, Indy Truck Bash, Low Rider Nationals are a few shows he loved to attend. Tuff also enjoyed attending local car shows in and around the area. In his free time, he enjoyed working on cars and doing custom builds. Most of all Tuff enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his parents John and Jean Dreckmeier of Burlington; siblings: Jill (Tim) Olk of Niles, Illinois and Jay Dreckmeier of Flint, Michigan and nephew Braden Dreckmeier. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, two aunts and four uncles.
Per his wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
