Burlington Man Allegedly Beats and Robs Senior Citizen in Oquawka

A Burlington man has been charged with home invasion, residential burglary, and aggravated battery to a senior citizen after allegedly beating a person in Oquawka, Ill. on Wednesday (March 3).

Deputies arrested Alexander Sesher, 26, at 1:20 p.m. today (March 3), just minutes after Sesher allegedly committed the burglary and battery, according to the Henderson County, Ill., Sheriff's office.

According to sheriff officials, Sesher allegedly entered a home in Oquawka with the intent to steal money and encountered a senior citizen and attacked them. Police said Sesher knew the person he attacked but did not say if the senior citizen is male or female. No update has been provided on the victim's condition.

Police arrested Sesher a block away as he left the scene. He was transported to the Henderson County jail with no bond, and his vehicle is subject to seizure.
