Robert L. "Bob" Knoll, founder and owner of Heartland Harley-Davidson, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, surrounded by family at his home in Burlington.  He was 74 years old.

Bob was born June 4, 1950 in Erie, Pa., the son of Robert and Eva Kerr Knoll. 

Bob was a very energetic, passionate and adventurous soul.  He loved speed and found it through racing, motorcycles and aviation.  He appreciated the beauty of classic cars and had numerous throughout his life.  He was a member of the Stearman Biplane community and enjoyed attending the Galesburg Stearman Fly-in.  Bob was very passionate about Heartland Harley-Davidson.  It allowed him to connect to so many people and introduced him to his wife of 27 years, Jane.  It meant so much to him to joke, laugh and share stories with everyone who came to cruise nights and supported his business.  He loved being a part of the Burlington community.  Moreover, Bob's family and friends meant the world to him.

Bob's kindness, friendship and passion will be truly missed, but his memory and legacy will continue on through everyone who love him.

Family includes his wife, Jane; son, Craig (Carmen) Knoll; four step-children, Denise Reichman, Chad (Natasha) Wamsley, Christina (Lia Presnell) Wamsley, and Katie Wamsley; three grandchildren, Cassidy,  Mckenzie, and Quinn; siblings, Denise (Van) and Colleen; sister-in-law, Jan; nieces and nephews, Riley, Stephanie, Charlie and Katie..

Sadly, Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Knoll. 

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held Sunday, October 20 at 1:00 pm at Heartland Harley-Davidson, 117 S. Roosevelt in Burlington.

Memorial contributions in Bob's memory are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project.
