Michael Lee Crowner, 78, of Burlington, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his home.
Born Jan. 14, 1946, in Iowa City, he was the son of John Wayne and Anna Mae Crowner. He married Terri Steward on Aug. 2, 1996.
Mike worked for I.A.A.P. for 38 years. After retirement he worked for several years for Hometown Car Wash. He was a Navy veteran.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, putting together jigsaw puzzles, going to the casino and tinkering with things. Most importantly, he loved time spent with family.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Crowner; children, Sheila (Dan) Crowner, Pam (Rod) Woodall, Michael (Ann) Crowner and Micheal T. (Lisa) Haley all of Burlington and Matthew T. (Emma) Haley of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister Marty Polewchek of Ohio; brothers-in-law, Gary Ball of Bettendorf and George Miller of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ron, Jim and John and three sisters, Dorothy, Carol and Linda in infancy.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites at 4:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow the visitation at the Burlington Eagles #150.
A memorial has been established for the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
According to his wishes, cremation will be accorded following the visitation, and has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. Burial will be held in Denmark Cemetery, at a later date.
