
V. Maxine Setterberg Danneman, age 97, of Burlington, died Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the OakView Nursing Home.
Born October 3, 1928, in Eldora, she was the daughter of Archie Clint and Clara Mae Howell Clemons.
She graduated from Eldora High School.
Maxine worked numerous jobs, including the American Dixie Shops as an assistant manager, Sylvania, J.C. Penney Company, Jefferson Hat Shop, Iowa Southern Utilities and Perkins School where she worked with special needs children.
Maxine enjoyed music, dancing and reading. She taught cooking classes to Girl Scouts when she was employed at I.S.U. Maxine attended the First Christian Church and Sunday School and she was a member of the Golden Oldies and Senior Center.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Pam Vroom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Arlo Clemons, Gareld Clemons, Ronald Clemons, Verna Manley, Iola Clemons, Leona Reece, and Rosalie Clemons; and a few nieces and nephews.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The memorial service for Maxine will be Friday, April 10, 2 PM, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street, with Reverend David J. Yonker officiating. Burial will follow at in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh Funeral Service following the burial.
Memorials have been established for Iowa Department of the Blind and First Christian Church.
