Lois J. Osborne, 99, of West Burlington, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born June 3, 1924, in Danville, she was the daughter of Joseph Edward and Laura Bell Thomes Grinstead. On March 18, 1946, she married Delvan Francis Osborne in Burlington. He died Dec. 31, 1999.
Lois was a homemaker for most of her life. She also worked for IRC, Burlington Basket Factory, and Kirlin's Hallmark.
She was of the Protestant faith and a member of the Woodmen of the World. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She made a lot of her children's clothes as they were growing up. She was always busy doing something. She loved to spend time cooking, toiling in her garden, and canning the wonderful things that came out of it.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Applegarth and Barbara Heater both of Burlington; two sons, Ronald (Katie) Osborne of Glendale, Ariz., and Delferd (Patricia) Osborne of Sperry; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; five sisters; three step brothers; two step sisters; son-in-law, Michael Applegarth; and grandson, Robert Ranck.
Visitation with the family to receive friends will be 12 to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov.17, 2023 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The funeral service for Mrs. Osborne will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice and Klein Center.
