Chad Lynn Young, 57, of Burlington, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital.
Chad was born on February 22, 1966, in Keokuk. He was the son of Bill and Joan Young Hayden. Chad grew up in Kahoka, Mo., and later moved to Iowa. He married Bobbi Daniels (Marshall) in 1988 and had three daughters: Amber, Stephanie, and Emilee. They divorced in 1997. In December 2004, Chad married the love of his life, Lynn Peterson. They spent twenty-one wonderful years together.
Chad had the biggest heart and would help anyone who needed it. Chad was a hardworking man, and always seemed to stay busy. He enjoyed scrapping and was known as “Master Scrapper”. He enjoyed watching anything with John Wayne and shows like Bonanza, My Cousin Vinny, and any sports team that is from Missouri. Most of all, Chad loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include wife, Lynn Young; six daughters: Amee (Tom) Wyatt, Jessica Simerl, Ashley Reed, Amber (Coyte) Todd, Stephanie (Zach) Nall, Emilee Young. Extended family; Matt (Stacy) Tansey, Brandon Tansey, Genera Tansey, Kyler Engen, and Kyle Sharp; twenty-four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Mike Young and Carl Hayden; two nieces, several aunts and uncles, cousins and a good friend, Tyron Mack.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his brother Larry Hayden, and several aunts and uncles.
In honor of Chad’s wishes, he continued to help others through the gift of organ donation. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at VFW in Kahoka, Mo. (23062 E Main St apt 7, Kahoka, MO 63445) from 1 to 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions in Chad's memory are suggested to the University of Iowa Research Center.
