Randy Wagner, Sr., 67, of Burlington, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.
Born Oct. 4, 1954, in Burlington, he was the son of Harold L. and Bonnie J. Schmitz Wagner.
He worked as a meter reader for Iowa Southern Utilities, prior to working in construction.
In his youth, he attended Messiah Lutheran Church, and later attended the First Assembly of God Church.
He loved motorcycles, old cars, and enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and playing pool. He liked watching football on TV and later became a Cowboys fan. He loved his dog, Joker, and his cat, Crackers.
Survivors include his two sons, Chad (Jennifer) Wagner of Byron, Ill. and Randy Ray Wagner, Jr. of Burlington; three grandsons, Jace, Brock, and Andrew; four granddaughters, Ausslin, BreAnna, Cortney, and Randi; two great-grandchildren, Beau and Axle; one brother, Harold "Buzz" (Gayle) Wagner of Burlington; and one half-brother, Marvin (Mary) Merritt of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Connie Daniel.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The celebration of life for Mr. Wagner will be Wednesday, Feb. 9 from 2 to 5 p.m., at Doris' Tavern. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Keokuk National Cemetery.
