Notre Dame's girls basketball team had little trouble against New London, this time in a first-round Class 1A regional Thursday at Father Minett Gym.

The Nikes beat the Tigers, 68-30, one week after beating them 74-32 in a South Division game.

Notre Dame (17-6) plays next Tuesday against WACO at the Warriors' gym in Wayland at 7 p.m. It will be a rematch of the Southeast Iowa Superconference title game on Feb. 4 at SCC. Notre Dame won that game 51-45.

In the first-round game against the Tigers, Notre Dame led 22-3 after the first quarter and hit the mercy rule mark of a 35-point difference by halftime, 46-10.

Lauren Krieger scored 15 for Notre Dame, Maddy Mosena scored 14 and Gabby Deery scored 11. Anna Engberg and Abby Korschgen made seven points each, Addison Reid had six, and Nadiya Jones had four.

Taryn Stephens, Lexi Korschgen, and Ines Cadahia each added two points.

Natalie Burden scored 12 for New London, which closes out winless in the 22 games.
