Rose Marie Cluney, 72, of Burlington, died Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant. Born Jan. 12, 1953, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Boyd Jean and Bessie Marie Gibson Savage.

She worked as a caregiver at Bickford Cottage and Rosebush Gardens and later retired from St. Francis Medical Center.

Rose was a very kind hearted woman who loved her family.  She enjoyed playing Rummy, so much so that she wasn't above cheating just a little to gain the competitive edge.  She enjoyed knitting and Scottish Terriers.  She liked to watch movies and often would have popcorn and Mountain Dew while doing so. Rose was a big Cowboy and Hawkeye fan. She had a deep faith and was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church.  Rose loved her family tremendously, her children, grandchildren and extended family meant the world to her.  She will be missed deeply.

Survivors include her children, Joe (Teresa) Cluney, Toby (Sarah) Cluney; grandchildren, Michael Cluney and Abby Cluney; ex-husband and friend, Leon Cluney; siblings, Darrold Savage, Robert (Karen) Glick, Roger (DeeAnne) Glick; many nieces and nephews; and grand kitty, Figaro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Patricia Harper.
Visitation will be from 12 to 6 p.m., with the family to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The funeral service for Mrs. Cluney will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street with Salvation Army Major Roger Glick officiating.  Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for Shriners Children's Hospital.
