Richard Harold “Dick” Bowman, 83, of Burlington, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2021. Born Dec. 10, 1937 in Burlington, he was the son of Harold &amp; Esther McGinity Bowman. Richard married Janet Hill on Feb. 4, 1956, in West Burlington. He worked for JI Case as a production worker for 14 years and was a roofer by trade. Richard served in the U. S. Marines.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. In his early years he was a member of the V.F.W., Eagles Club, and the Sportsman’s Cascade Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife; five children, Carla Clawson, Peggy Nickols, Sheila Martindale, and Richard Bowman II all of Kansas and Brad Bowman of Burlington; three siblings, Margaret Krieger, Harold Bowman, Jr., and Jerry Bowman; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

There will be no funeral services; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Kansas. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Funeral Chapel.
