Allen W. Schillie, 65, of Danville, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born March 13, 1956, in Kirksville, Mo., he was the son of Hurley "Sparky" and Lula Harrison Schillie. On July 27, 1985, he married Connie Jo Downs in Danville.
Allen was the city supervisor for the city of Danville for over 40 years. He was the assistant fire chief from 2016 to present and a captain for 20 years with over 40 years of service to the Danville Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife; mother; three sons, Jason Fisher and Joseph Schillie, both of Danville, and Joshua Schillie of Des Moines; one daughter, Amanda Schillie of Danville; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Schillie of Waverly and Les Schillie of Danville; and one sister, Angie McCannon of Burlington.
Family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 29 from 4 until 7 p.m., at the Danville Fire Station.
The funeral service for Allen will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Danville Fire Station with the Reverend Jack Edmisson officiating.
Due to limited parking, there will be a shuttle available Saturday, Oct. 30 from the ball fields behind the Danville school, starting at 9 a.m. to drop off at the service. Shuttle will return people to their cars following the service. Contact City Hall with any questions regarding the shuttle service.
Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Danville Fire Station following the burial.
A memorial has been established for the Danville Fire Department.
