Julie Love, 72, formerly of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Wapello Care Center. Julie will be remembered for her warm heart, sense of humor, and the joy she brought to family and friends. Her kindness, faith, and love for others touched everyone who knew her.

She was born on September 7, 1953, to Ervin and Rozella (Swanson) Youngren. Julie graduated from Alwood High School and spent many years working at Security Savings Bank, where she was known for her dedication and professionalism.

Julie married Ron Love, and although they later divorced, she treasured the family they built together.

She is survived by her three children: Michelle (Doug) Windsor, Melissa (Greg) Hottinger, and Michael Love; two grandchildren, Mallory (Devin) Pohren and Nathan Hottinger; and one great-grandchild, Kix Gatewood. She is also survived by her siblings: Shari Youngren, Larry (Chris) Youngren, and Les Youngren, along with several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Julie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jean.

A devoted member of the Stronghurst Presbyterian Church, Julie served on numerous committees and generously shared her time and talents. She enjoyed outings with her church friends, reading, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, planting flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family. She also loved all things Swedish based on her heritage. Known for her sense of humor, Julie brought joy and laughter to those around her. She also loved sewing and took pride in creating beautiful pieces for family.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

 Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.
A memorial service for Julie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst with Pastor Steve Minkler officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Altona, Illinois. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.  

A memorial has been established in her honor.
