Burlington Police discovered a “significant” amount of suspected methamphetamine during a Monday (March 30) drug bust.
Terry Lee Douglas III, 33, of Burlington, was arrested Monday on a warrant for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Before the arrest, police executed a search warrant of Douglas’s vehicle, locating the significant amount of suspected meth.
“Over the past several months, the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force and the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement (DNE) have been conducting an investigation into an individual who was dealing large quantities of narcotics in the Southeast Iowa area,” Burlington Police Lt. Wayne Thomson said in a press release.
Douglas was hit with an additional intent to deliver charge outside of the warrant and was also charged with drug tax stamp violation. He is being held at the Des Moines County Correctional Center in Burlington.
Thomson said the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the Burlington area.
