New COVID-19 Case in Des Moines County; Seven More Deaths Reported

There is another case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Des Moines County, the Iowa Department of Public Health announced on Sunday.

The new case in Des Moines County is that of an adult aged 41-60 years. That brings the total confirmed cases to three in Des Moines County.

In addition to the Des Moines County case, state officials announced seven more COVID-19-related deaths, which brings the total to 41. The seven deaths include two older adults between 61-80 years and four elderly adults older than 81 years old in Linn County, and one elderly adult above the age of 81 from Washington County.

There were 77 new positive cases, including six in Louisa County. The total of confirmed cases in Iowa now stands at 1,587, with a total of 16,005 negative tests.
