
Larry Max Heater, 75, of Burlington, died at 12:38 AM Tuesday, March
29, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West
Burlington.
Born May 26, 1946, in Mount Pleasant, IA, he was the son of Max Cleo
and Elsie Luella Glazebrook Heater. In December of 1965 he married
Brenda Doreen Kerr and they later divorced. On June 26, 1976, he married
Judy Marie Brammer in Stronghurst, IL. She died May 14, 2015.
He attended New London High School. While in school, he worked for the New London Grain Elevator.
He drove a gravel truck for Des Moines County. Larry was an
over-the-road truck driver for Truck Transport Inc. and Long Trucking
for 44 years. He later went to work for Centre State delivering parts
until his retirement in 2016.
Larry loved to travel and drive. He was a walking road map and always
gave you directions, even if you knew the way. He was a member of the
Teamsters Union for many years. He loved animals and planted a garden
with his family every year. He enjoyed coffee with his friends every
morning.
Survivors include son, Bryan Dean Heater of Donnellson; daughter,
Leslie Marie (Clint) Glasscock of Keokuk; three grandchildren; his four
legged grandson, Rocky; four great-grandchildren; step-son, Steven Mark
Lewis of Burlington; step-daughter, Patricia Ann Lewis of Burlington;
two step grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Terry of Morning Sun and his
many special friends.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, an infant
daughter Lori Michelle Heater, step daughter Kelly Myers, half brother
Richard Foland and half sister Deloris.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Heater will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 1, 2022, at Burge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
