Tri-State Special Kids' Rodeo Planned for Sept. 3

The Rodeo Arena in Fort Madison will soon host the 21st Annual Tri-State Special Kids’ Rodeo. Scheduled for Saturday, September 3, this event is open to all physically and mentally challenged children and adults. The attendance has grown from 13 participants the first year to a record-breaking 300-plus participants in 2015.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. with the rodeo starting at 10 a.m. Events include simulated saddle bronc riding and barrel racing, horseback rides, a petting zoo, and horse-drawn trolley rides. T-shirts and prizes will be given to all contestants, and a picnic lunch will be provided to everyone at the event. The rodeo will be held rain or shine.
