Gerry Walker, 64 of Burlington died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Born Nov. 11, 1957, in Burlington, he was the son of Ronald Chick and Helen Marie Anderson Walker.
Gerry earned a degree in Turf Management from Danville Area Community College.
He married Coeli Catherine Inghram on Dec. 29, 1981, and later divorced. They had two children, Ivy and Jordan.
Gerry spent the majority of his career working in turf management and landscaping. He proudly served as superintendent at Flint Hills Golf Course for 17 years. He later went on to run his own lawn care company, Lawngevity, LLC.
Survivors include his loving companion, Patty Lewis of Burlington; daughter, Ivy Savanah Boyd of Norwalk, Iowa; son, Jordan Trevor Walker of Des Moines; brother, Jim Walker of Wheaton, Ill.; and sister, Pamela Walker of New York, N.Y.
The funeral service for Gerry will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Lunning Chapel. Interment will follow at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Due to current health concerns, the family requires that everyone wear masks.
