Federal Warrants Lead To Burlington Drug Arrest

A Burlington man was arrested on a federal warrant for dealing narcotics Thursday (May 21), following an investigation by the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force that is still ongoing.

Adam Brent Branton, 39, is charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and was also arrested on a federal warrant for possession of a firearm by a felon.

A number of police units coordinated to execute a search warrant at 313 South Sixth St., including the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, the Iowa Department of Narcotics Enforcement, the Burlington Police Department and the Des Moines County Tactical Response Unit.

According to Burlington Police Lt. Wayne Thomson, Branton is being held on pending a court appearance, and additional arrests are expected.
