Evelyn Dornberg, 93, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025. &nbsp;

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Arthur and Tess Appleman.&nbsp;

She married Joe Dornberg on November 26, 1955 and celebrated 56 years of marriage until his passing in April of 2012.

She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed walking, knitting, and all the simple things in life, including her family.&nbsp; Her favorite saying was “Enjoy your Day”.

Survivors include her daughters, Barb (Ed) Overhake and Judy Leitch; grandchildren, Dana (Tim) Anderson, Erin (Cole) Roberts and Joanna Leitch; great granddaughter Alexis Roberts; great grandson Elliot Anderson and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Sara Schatz and Sylvia Fine Heller and great grandson Mason Roberts.

A special thank you to the staff at Bickford Cottage in Burlington and Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice for their caring support and assistance.

Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 9th at Lunning Chapel.&nbsp; The family will not be present.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice or the Stead Family Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa.

Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.&nbsp;&nbsp;
