Melissa “Missy” Chipman, 53, of Burlington, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at her home. Born on April 12, 1971, in Biloxi, Miss., she was the daughter of Michael and Beverly Strickland.
Missy was a 1989 graduate of Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College where she received her Associates of Arts degree. In her free time, she enjoyed reading fiction and mystery books and watching movies, especially Stephen King series. Missy was out going and always loved making people laugh or smile. She loved being a mother and grandmother. Spending time with family brought her the most joy.
She is survived by her life partner Don Chipman; daughter Ashely Ringold; two grandchildren: Noel and Raven; parents: Mike and Beverly Strickland; siblings: Chris Ringold, of Burlington, Angie Helderlein, Heather Ringold and Jennifer Ringold all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her daughter Kayli Rae Ringold.
Cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
