Curtis Martin Lees, 96, of Burlington, died Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Bickford of Burlington in Burlington.
"Don't be upset, these things happen to all people.

In the beginning, mine, I was born in Austin, MN, on 21st of February, 1930, the eldest son of Percy and Violet Lees, to be followed by Richard and Douglas.

Graduated from Austin, MN, High School in 1948 and the University of Oklahoma as a Mechanical Engineer in 1953.

Married my children's mother in 1951.  Because of problems, I was awarded the children Steven, William, and James.

Military: eight years; National Guard Reserves; Army Active Duty.

Worked as a Mechanical Engineer on everything from cookies to atomic bombs.  On retirement, went to China to build and start up a pharmaceutical plant.

In Hannibal, I met my second wife, Florence Ann Sundermeyer.  Ann loved to travel and scuba dive.  We were on six of the seven continents and had plans to go to the seventh when she got brain cancer and died, a real loss.

My remains will be taken to a medical school, there will be no visitation or funeral.  No flowers, take a friend to supper.

Enjoy the day and remember your days are also numbered."

Prugh Funeral Service is in care of the arrangements.
