Keith Edward Chenoweth, 80, of Burlington, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025. Born June 7, 1944, in Burlington, he was the son of Albert and Faye Chenoweth.
Keith graduated from Burlington High School in 1962. He served 4 years in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a military decoder.
He studied at Southeastern Community College and received his general associate’s degree and continued his education studying accounting at the University of Iowa.
Keith worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant where he met and later married Alyce Childers on Nov. 2, 1968, in Burlington. Together they went on to raise two sons Bradley and Michael.
He worked at Champion Spark Plug for 28 years and was a skilled floor covering installer for 50 years. He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed what he did.
Keith loved to travel, attend Iowa Hawkeye Football games and spend time with family and friends.
Survivors include brother Ken of Burlington; sister Delores of Arizona; sons Bradley (Tonya) Chenoweth of Burlington and Michael (Toni) Chenoweth of Mediapolis; grandchildren Mika (Aiden) Fowler and Charles Chenoweth; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and his grandparents.
The memorial funeral service for Keith will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20 at Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rob Carleton will officiate. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
Burial will be held at a later date at Bethel Cemetery, Wapello.
According to his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
