Pauline Evelyn Miller, 100, of West Burlington, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, at Danville Care Center.

Born June 18, 1922, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Gail G. and Stella “Agnes” Higdon Hanger. She married Carl Miller on Feb. 7, 1942, in Burlington. He died July 7, 2013.

Pauline was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Afternoon Circle. She loved to garden, raise flowers, and time spent with her family. She was a woman of strong faith and shared its importance with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her four sons; David Carl Miller and Richard Dennis Miller both of West Burlington, Timothy Allen (Debra) Miller of Humboldt, and Paul Jonathan (Sally) Miller of West Burlington; 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Mathew, Leah, Jamie, Mandy, Megan, Ethan, Carly, Levi, Terence Neal, Rhiannon, Jason, and Rachel; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Griggs of Burlington; special friend Irene Crosten of Middletown and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, three brothers, David Patrick and James in infancy, and Robert Hanger, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Miller.

The funeral service for Mrs. Miller will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Peace Lutheran Church. Pastor James Zuehls will officiate. Interment will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery, rural West Burlington.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church or Compassus Hospice.
