Burlington Police Arrest Men Who Allegedly Stole Guns and Money During A Strong Arm Robbery

By Beacon Staff

Two Burlington men have been arrested for a strong-arm robbery (robbery at weapon point) that occurred last month in the 1100 block of Summer Street.

Jonathan Robert Harian, 28, and Tevin Devontaye Cross, 28, have both been charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The Burlington Police Department received a complaint about the robbery on July 20. The robbery didn’t result in injuries, but police were informed that multiple firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen.

Burlington detectives and officers from the department’s Problem-Oriented Policing division investigated the incident, identifying the two suspects.

Lt. Wayne Thomson of the Burlington police said in a press release on Friday (Aug. 14) that Harian and Cross are being held at the Des Moines County jail in Burlington on a no-bond pending a court appearance.
