Jerry Siverly, 90, of Burlington, died at 3:52 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2022, at his home.

Born May 27, 1932, in Iowa, he was the son of Francis T. and Viola R. Hunger Siverly. On July 22, 1951, he married Doris Nelson in Burlington. They have celebrated 71 wonderful years with each other.

Jerry worked for Montgomery Ward in retail for 21 years, IAAAP, West Hill Mobile Station for 17 years, Burlington School District as a bus driver for 11 years and a YMCA Bus driver for 7 years. He was great with kids and always enjoyed their company on the bus rides.

He was a 1952 graduate of Burlington High School.

Jerry liked cars, motorcycles, RV camping, yard work, group suppers and gatherings and attending 1952 school reunion meetings. He was always entertaining, and always had a joke to make people laugh. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Survivors include wife, Doris Siverly; one daughter, Yvonne (T. Scott) Minton; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, seven nephews, and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas Siverly; one brother, and three sisters.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The memorial service for Mr. Siverly will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 1 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the American Cancer Association.
