Kenneth Joseph Lehman, 93, of Burlington, died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born March 9, 1928, in Burlington, he was the son of Joseph Edward and Grace Francis Cargill Lehman. On June 23, 1950, he married Phylis Alvera Knotts at West Hill United Methodist Church in Burlington. They were blessed to share 71 years of marriage together and celebrated with family and friends last June. 

He was a 1946 graduate of Burlington High School.

He served in the Marines from 1946 until 1952 reaching the rank of First Sergeant. 

Kenneth was an administrative clerk at Silas Mason Company for 39 years.

He was a longtime member of the New London Country Club.  He enjoyed duck, rabbit, squirrel, and mushroom hunting. He passed on his passion for hunting and fishing to his daughters. He enjoyed putting on fish fries for his church for 30 years with help from his family and friends. He loved raising tomatoes which he gave to anyone who wanted them. He sang in the church choir and also sang in several local barbershop quartets and directed the Burlington Clipper Barbershop Chorus for many years.

Survivors include wife, Phylis Alvera Lehman of Burlington, four daughters, Vickie (Larry) Kientz of Brighton, IA, Renee (Mike) Zaiser of Burlington, Kela Lehman of Burlington, and Jana (Scott) Gibbs of Danville, IA,  seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one niece, Kim (Ron) Smith and several other nieces and nephews on his wife's side.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jean Lehman Tiemeyer and Laura Lehman; one son-in-law Jim Davis; and one great-grandson Leo Johnson.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for West Hill United Methodist Church (540 S Leebrick St, Burlington, IA 52601) and the New London Country Club (2534 Racine Ave, New London, IA 52645).

Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
