
Kevin Kenneth Yaley, 55, of Sperry, died at 8:09 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Born Oct. 6, 1965, in Fort Madison, Iowa, he was the son of Gary Kenneth and JoAnn Ruschill Yaley. On July 1, 1989, he married his college sweetheart, Betzina Eva Marie Hersk, on her island home of Bermuda. The couple had three sons.
He was a 1984 graduate of Fort Madison High School and a 1988 graduate of Calvary Bible College in Kansas City, Mo.
Kevin entered the financial services industry in 1997 with New York Life, earning several awards for his outstanding client service. In 2003, he joined the firm of Berthel Fisher as a registered representative, partnering with Rebecca Anderson and Rick Buller.
Kevin loved people. He attended Harmony Bible Church and First United Methodist Church of Mediapolis, serving in various leadership roles. He also coached his boys’ soccer teams.
Survivors include his parents, Gary and JoAnn Yaley; wife, Betzina Yaley of Sperry; sons, Shane Alexander Yaley, Shawn Kenneth Yaley, and Brett Edward Yaley; sister, Kathy (Lance) Anderson of Canton, Miss.; brothers Mathew (Christina) Yaley and Michael (Jodi) Yaley, both of Danville.
Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, George Hersk.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at Harmony Bible Church, Danville campus. The memorial service for Mr. Kevin will be 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at Harmony Bible Church, Danville campus. Pastor Chris Carr will officiate. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the church immediately following the service.
A memorial has been established for Left Hand Legacy Ministries, a new ministry established in Kevin’s memory.
