Genevieve D."Ginny" Klopfenstein, 90, of West Burlington, died Tuesday, Jan.30, 2024, at the Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born on Aug. 22, 1933, in Decatur, Ill., she was the daughter of Willam A. and Nora E. Armer Lee. In Feb. 1959, in Decatur, she married Karon Ray Ellis. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1968. On Aug. 18, 1973, in West Burlington, she married Clive Mourer Klopfenstein. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2011.
Ginny was a member of Ainsworth Community Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Clive to Texas in the winter months and being able to leave the farm. Ginny always enjoyed coming to the Burlington area to see family, get her nails done, and go shopping when Clive went to minister at the prison. In her later years, she was always thrilled to see the cardinals and goldfinch at the bird feeders and the geese and ducks at the pond. She especially enjoyed seeing the hummingbirds fly up to her window and feed in the summertime. While she lived at the Klein Center, she would tell her daughters her purpose of living there was to help make the staff smile and laugh. Most of all Ginny loved being with her friends and family.
She is survived by her two daughters: Kathy (Alan) Kuntz and Teresa (Ron) McVey; three grandchildren: Alison (Troy) Miller, Kelli Kuntz and Amber (Jared) Collum; seven great-grandchildren: Trenton, Alissa and Tristan Miller, Kaleb and Noah Soucie, Tate and Bryn Collum; and three great-great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; five brothers and two sisters.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
