Jimmy T. Moyner, 90, of Burlington died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at Oakview Nursing Home, Burlington.

Jimmy was born March 16, 1931, to John and Amanda Balzar Moyner in Burlington.

He married Darlene M. McLaughlin Oct. 6, 1950, in Burlington.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in France.

He worked as a machinist at Iowa Ordinance Plant for 14 years and Burlington Northern Railroad for 20 years.

He was a life-long active member of First Christian Church and served as deacon, usher and chief coffee maker! He was also a member of the Moose lodge, Eagles lodge, American Legion, and the Machinist Union.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Tom Moyner of Burlington, Ken Moyner of St. Charles, Ill., Randy Moyner of Burlington, Gary Moyner of Burlington; daughter, Linda Moyner Roderick of West Point; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, 1221 Park Avenue, Burlington, with the Reverend David Yonker officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. A luncheon will follow at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Burlington Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for First Christian Church of Burlington.
