Larry Dale Osborn, 86, of West Burlington, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born April 8, 1937 in Des Moines County, he was the son of Dale and Elsie Schultz Osborn. He married Patricia Welcher Oard in 1976 in Burlington. She died Oct. 22, 2018.

Larry was in the National Guard for nine years. He was a farmer and worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation as a mechanic. He retired in 2000 after 24 years of service.

Larry was a member of the West Burlington Lions. He enjoyed working on cars and performing maintenance on his farm. He was active at Peace Lutheran Church

Survivors include his two sons Rodney (Jane) Oard of West Burlington and Todd Oard of Kansas City, Mo. He has five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Richard and son Tony.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. Inurnment will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
