
Judy Hillard, 75, died September 9, 2022, at the Hospice House from complications due to stage four cancer. She was diagnosed February of 2020 and fought hard.
Judy was born in Burlington, Iowa on February 28, 1947. She attended Burlington Community High School. She then worked many years at Hope Haven Area Development Center and then switched her career as an independent insurance agent.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marilyn Brown and Jack Hillard, her great aunt Joy Dockendorff and her two granddaughters, Ava and Olivia Parker.
She is survived by her brother Craig Hillard (Freda), three children Jeff Gapen, Mark Gapen, and Kathy Parker (Scott), and her seven grandchildren, Hannah Stephens (Blake), Chavana Neuweg (Coby), Danielle Gapen, Andrew Gapen, Jackson Parker, Bennett Parker, and Noah Parker, and her six great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, decorating her home, flower gardens, and watching birds.
According to Judy’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
