
Suzanne C. Bloomer, 67, of Burlington, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born September 13, 1954, in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of Kenneth P. and Nina M. Gibbs Johnson. On August 6, 1997, she married Gerald "Jerry" Lee Bloomer in Hot Springs, SD.
She was a psychology, sociology, and English teacher for the state of S.D. for 17 years and a prevention specialist on a South Dakota Reservation.
Suzanne was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Burlington and the Phi Kappa Honor Society. She enjoyed art and fishing.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Gerald "Jerry" Lee Bloomer; daughter, Stephanie (Frank) Garneaux of Grisham, Ore.; two grandchildren, Kain and Daniel Garneaux; father, Kenneth P. Johnson of Manhattan, Kan.; step-son, Ken (Sandra) Bloomer; step-daughter, Julie (Matt) Martineau of Mediapolis; step-grandchildren, Amanda Shafer, Logan Cooper, Colin, and Hailey Bloomer; brother, Daniel James (Linda) Johnson of Bettendorf; sister, Laurie Johnson of Manhattan, Kan.; and four nephews, Hunter Bagby, Aaron, Jeremy, and Brad Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
