Mrs. Mary Catherine Parmeter, 74, of Burlington, died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 30, 1948 in Ft. Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick W. “Fritz”and Martha Votzmeier Timmermann. On January 23, 1998 she married Dennis L. Parmeter in Burlington.
Mary graduated from Aquinas High School in Ft. Madison and did medical office work for Corp Medical Services and Health West Clinic retiring in 2013. She enjoyed bowling, being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary especially loved her dog, Lilly.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis; two daughters, Sherry Harris and Lori Henderson of Burlington; her grandchildren, Gregory Hester, Ashley Johnston, Mikayla Binder, Stone Graham, Sandra Graham, and Lucas Henderson; great grandchildren, JaMari, JaVoni, Ethan, Brionna, Julian Jr, and Apollo; two brothers, Paul and David Timmermann of Ft. Madison; her Stepmother Doris “Red” Timmermann of Burlington; and her beloved dog Lilly.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
The memorial service for Mary Catherine Parmeter will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 5 at Lunning Chapel with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Wayne Ryan will be officiating.
A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
