
Jacquelyn Chubb, 81, of Burlington, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
Born Dec. 13, 1939, in Los Angeles, Calif., she was the daughter of Jack Henry and Dorotha Jane Griffith Handrich. She married James Arnold Chubb; they later divorced.
She graduate from Burlington High School in 1958 and later from Southeastern Community College with her Associate of Arts degree.
Jacquelyn worked at Southeastern Community College as the office manager for the Dean of Instruction for about 25 years, retiring Dec. 12, 2021. She then volunteered at Hopefully Yours and GRMC Heritage Medical Supply. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the church council, worship and music committee, book club, and church choir.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Chubb, and one son, Jerry Chubb, both of Burlington, and one sister, Linda Garmoe.
A memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
Upon her request, she has been cremated. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 25 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2515 Madison Ave, Burlington. The Rev. Paul Hermansen will preside. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. All are welcome to come and share memories.
