Joanne Kathryn Meth, 87, of West Burlington, died Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the OakView Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Burlington surrounded by the love of her family.

Born April 26, 1938, in Washington, Iowa, she was the daughter of Floyd "Tony" E. and Edith E. Jarrard Kerr. On Oct. 10, 1997, she married Richard Warren Meth in Crapo Park. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2019.

She spent 12 1/2 years with ADM Elevator, bringing her determination and warmth into every role she took on. Later, she found purpose in caring for others, working for over 14 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Mobile Nursing in Fort Madison. 

Joanne was a former member of the West Burlington United Methodist Church and often volunteered her time with Great River Home Hospice, offering comfort to others in their final days. She was a long time member of T.O.P.S. (Take Pounds Off Sensibly) and K.O.P.S. (Keep Pounds Off Sensibly). Joanne loved her flowers, making custom cards for family and friends, and playing games on her phone.

Survivors include her son, Dale (Paula) Hayden of Burlington; two daughters, Lorri L. (Harold) Johnson of Silver Springs, Fla. and Raylene K. Garrison of Carthage, Ill.; two step-sons, Dale (Amy) Meth of Stronghurst, Ill. and Harold Meth of Burlington; step-daughter, Carol (Dan) Steagall of Moline, Ill.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd E. "Gene" (Bonnie) Kerr of Lake St. Louis, Mo. and James L. (Jane) Kerr of North Liberty; and sister, Judith K. (Ernest) Pilkington of Gladstone, Ill.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street. 

A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
