Gerry E. Fesler, 79, of Burlington, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at
the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born April 30, 1942, in Galesburg, he was the son of Chauncey and Elma Faye Davis Fesler.
Gerry was a graduate of Eureka College in Eureka, Ill. where he
majored in business and English and minored in geology. He was of the
Methodist faith.
On May 27, 1983, Gerry married Suzanne Carol Feken in Galesburg, Ill.
He started his career in Wyoming, Ill., opening and operating Fesler
Ford. In the early 70s, he and his brother moved to Galesburg and owned
and operated Fesler Oldsmobile, Honda and Volvo. In 1986 an opportunity
arose to move to Fairfield to own Fesler Chevrolet-Olds and then going
on to build Felser Auto Mall in Fairfield.
He also owned and was involved in farming operations.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Nicole Roope of Perrysburg, Ohio; brother, Michael Fesler of Danville; sister, Judy Knox of
Glennwood City, Wis.; and one granddaughter.
According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel. There will be no services.
A memorial has been established in Gerry’s memory for Southeast Iowa
Regional Hospice House, 1306 Washington Rd., West Burlington, IA 52655.
