Kenneth Ray Klenk, 84, of Burlington, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at the Bickford Cottage in Burlington.
Born Dec. 30, 1938, in Oakville, he was the son of Russell Ray and Floreine Cornelia Cover Klenk. On Oct. 12, 1957, he married Judith "Judy" Smith in Burlington.
He was a graduate of Huron High School class of 1957.
Kenny was a member of the Cattlemen and Pork Producers Associations. He attended the First Baptist Church in Mediapolis, and was baptized in the Cedar River at age 14. He coached little league, collected arrow heads, enjoyed 4 wheeling in the mountains, camping and many trips to Colorado. Kenny loved his grandkids, tinkering around, fixing anything if somebody needed help. He would do anything for anybody. Kenny was a life long farmer, and worked for Des Moines County Drainage District #7 for 50 years.
Survivors include wife, Judith "Judy" Klenk of Burlington; two sons, Kory (Rhonda) Klenk and Kenton (Jill) Klenk both of Mediapolis; daughter, Kaci (Scott) Van Dalen of Ft. Collins, Co.; son-in-law, Bryan Cox of Moravia; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Richard Lee (Jean) Klenk of Burlington and sister, Janice Rose (Bill) Brown of New London.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kelli, and one brother, Gary Klenk.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2023 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street Burlington.
The funeral service for Mr. Klenk will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, at Prugh Funeral Service, with Pastor Dan Baker officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held at Clover Creek Event Venue in Mediapolis.
A memorial has been established for the Mediapolis Fire Department and Ambulance Services.
