Cynthia S. Stephenson, 69, of Burlington, died Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.

Born April 2, 1954 in Quincy, Ill., she was the daughter of John Lyle and Zelma Corrine Cory Wagner.

She was married to Edward Gene Stephenson for 35 years before they divorced.

Cynthia was a homemaker. Over the years she worked for Godfather’s Pizza, for a mail order company and she hunted nightcrawlers.

Survivors include her two sons Monty Barnes of Oquawka, Ill. and Steve Barnes of Peoria, Ill.; two sisters Cheryl Seager and Cathy Dekeyrel, both of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
