Larry Lloyd Hale, 87, of Burlington, died Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at his home.

Born May 1, 1937, in Burlington, he was the son of Lloyd and Maxine Hale. He proudly served in the Iowa Army National Guard. He married Karen Bush on Dec. 27, 1959. She preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 2022.

Larry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was an Electrician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, all racing and race cars; late models, dirt track and watching NASCAR. He was proud of his military heritage and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his two children; Tonya (Scott) Powell and Doug (Debby) Hale; grandchildren, Daniel (Mitzi) Powell, Elizabeth Swan, Michael (Nicole) Powell, Katelyn (Jordan) Adamson and James (Scarlet) Hale; six great grandchildren; one sister Elaine Lox; nieces and nephews and his constant faithful companion, Koda.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Karen.

The funeral service for Mr. Hale will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 15 at Lunning Chapel. Burial will be held in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service.

A memorial has been established for the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.
