Sandra G. Hill, 80, of Burlington, Iowa died Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 6, 1946, in Centerville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Carl E. and Marjorie L. Ryals Luse. On October 12, 1963, in Burlington, Iowa, she married Arthur E. Hill. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2023.
Sandy graduated from Waco High School. She worked for Schramms, Orthopedic Surgeons, then worked for seventeen years at Kirk Massner Dentistry as a receptionist. Sandy was a member of Sperry United Methodist Church. For over twenty years she volunteered for the Mediapolis School District. In her free time, she loved to cook and bake from scratch, which her entire family loved her cooking. She also enjoyed spending time watching the birds. Most of all Sandy loved being with her family, especially being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters: Angie Pforts of Burlington, and Nikki Hill of Oquawka, Illinois; five grandchildren: Justin Pforts of Mediapolis, Mitchell Pforts of Mt Union, Micheal Vandergrift of New Bloomfield, Missouri, Coleton Sutton of Burlington and Quentin Hill Jr. of Burlington; seventeen great grandchildren: Aliya, Matyson, Rowan, Kasen, Trevin, Eastin, Bryton, Wyatt, Sadie, Gracelynn, Noah, Arthur, Michael, Hunter, Jaxon, Isabella and Selena, one great-great grandchild Paysley. Also surviving is a sister Candace Wenger of San Marcos, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Art, two sons: Mathew Hill and Quentin Hill and brother Richard Luse.
Per her wishes cremation has been entrusted and accorded to the care of Lunning Chapel.
A private graveside burial will be held at a later date.
