Kathy Jane Kendall, 72, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Iowa City.

Born on February 4, 1954, in LaHarpe, Illinois, Kathy was the daughter of Robert and Jean Cratsenberg. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Western Illinois University and retired after more than 20 years in elementary education. Most importantly, she was a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by two children, four grandchildren, and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kathy loved her grandchildren, her children, her sisters, her friends, and her community. She was an inexhaustible listener and nurturer, with a deep affection for the delicate, the underregarded, and the fragile. She instilled in her children and grandchildren a love of history, antiques, and above all, a love of God.

Banks &amp; Beals Funeral Home of LaHarpe is assisting the family.

The funeral service for Mrs. Kendall will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026 at the LaHarpe Union Church. Burial will follow at the LaHarpe Cemetery.&nbsp;

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church.&nbsp;

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, reflecting her Christian faith and concern for those in need.&nbsp;
