Richard “Rick” Nyberg, 70, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, at his residence.

Born Nov. 5, 1953, in Mesa, Ariz., he was the son of Ray O. Nyberg and Jessie St. Louis.  He married Lori D. Elmore on April 28, 1990, in West Burlington.

Rick worked for General Electric for 37 years until his retirement in 2009.

He traveled all over the United States on his BMW and Motoguzzi motorcycles and in the past few years, traveled extensively throughout the states visiting national parks in their converted camper with his wife Lori.  His favorite states to visit would be to see the “rocks” in Utah and Colorado in addition to trout fishing in Northeast Iowa.  Rick absolutely loved the outdoors and would rather sit by a campfire any day as opposed to being at home watching T.V.

He is survived by his loving wife Lori Nyberg of Burlington and sister Caryl (Ralph) Logan of West Burlington; he was a beloved Uncle to nieces and nephews, Monika, Rashawn, Wendy, Wally, Leanna, Jillian, Ryan and Alexis and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Vera Noble and two nephews, P.J. Noble and Mark Baker.

Lori would like to thank Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice for their wonderful care for Rick and express eternal gratitude to Paula, Brady and Michelle.

According to his wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. No services to be held.

Memorials are suggested to the Special Needs Foundation and the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
