Karen C. Anderson, 73, of Mediapolis, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at Prairie Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mediapolis. Born July 26, 1951, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Richard and Kathryn Neal. She married Gary Anderson.
Karen was a proud homemaker and farm wife. She was born and raised a farm girl and enjoyed cooking and fishing. She loved to chat and was not known for a short conversation, she absolutely loved to socialize! Her pride was her family, and she treasured being a mom and a grandma. She was the kindest, most loving person and treated her children’s friends as her own. Karen did not know a stranger, and to know her, was to truly love her.
She is survived by her husband Gary Anderson of Mediapolis; two children, John Anderson of Sperry and Lynne (Brandon) Marquardt of Wapello; granddaughter Alivia Marquardt and a grandchild on the way; brother Laverne Neal; sisters, Lois Wyatt and Marcia Burkey and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel. Burial will be held at a later date in North Walker Cemetery, rural Mediapolis.
