Naomi Jane Veff, 86, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 3:09 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Macomb Post Acute Care Center in Macomb, Illinois.
Naomi was born February 24, 1940, in Lincoln, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Viola Johnson. Earlier in life, she married Robert Veff. He preceded her in death February 8, 1997.

Naomi was a 1958 graduate of Lincoln High School. As a young girl, she was employed at a hospital in Lincoln and later for the Lincoln Telephone Company. After that, she worked for Lynn and Fink Cosmetic. She also worked for the Keokuk Rubber Plant and waited tables for a while before taking a position at J.I. Case, where she worked for 30 years. Naomi’s pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Rock Falls, Illinois and the LaHarpe Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, dancing and in later years, watching game shows, The Young and the Restless, and CSI Miami. 

Survivors include two daughters: Melanie (Rick) Quigle of LaHarpe and Jeannie Humphrey of Burlington; seven grandchildren: Seth (April) Berlett, Brent (Christine) Berlett, Dustin (Amanda) Humphrey, Mark (Carrie Cameron) Morgan, Mike (Mindi) Morgan, Jeremy Quigle and Ashley (Blake Campbell) Quigle; eight great-grandchildren; one sister: Carol Johnson of Springfield, Illinois and her longtime companion: Dale Thompson of LaHarpe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Ronda Berlett; two brothers, Mike and Jim Johnson; and one sister in infancy, Merry Ann Johnson.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.
