Michael J. Box, 61, of Burlington, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born April 7, 1960, in Burlington, he was the son of Edward J. and
Sally Rae Lewis Box. On Sept. 11, 1993, he married Marilyn M.
Stout-Lindquist.
Michael graduated from Notre Dame High School.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish and belonged to Sons of
AMVETS.
Survivors include his wife; his father;
two sons, Michael Box II of Mount Pleasant and Zachary Box of Burlington;
four daughters, Samantha Ferch and Natalie Box, both of Mt. Pleasant,
Kristin Naifeh of Indian Trail,N.C., and Heather Lindquist of Moville, Iowa; 11
grandchildren; one brother, Mark Box of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and one sister,
Mindy Spiker of Burlington.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 12 until 7 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home.
The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mr. Box will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16 at Divine Mercy Parish-St. Paul's Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the celebrant. A time of food and fellowship will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church following the service. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Sons of AMVETS and the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House.
